At the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP15) to the Ramsar Convention—held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe—India reaffirmed its global leadership in wetlands conservation through innovative policies, inclusive governance, and impactful international engagement. Based on “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” India highlighted its impressive growth, with 91 Ramsar Sites spanning over 1.36 million hectares – the third largest globally and the largest in Asia, marking a 250% increase in the past decade.
