India took over the G20 presidency on the 1^st of December 2022 for the first time since the establishment of G20 in 1999 in the wake of the Asian Bank Crisis. The XVIII G20 Summit 2023 was held between 9 & and 10 September 2023 in New Delhi, India under the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. To date, over 200 events planned under India’s G20 Presidency across more than 50 Indian cities to raise various contemporary issues like the environmentally sustainable path of living supported through the LiFE movement, SDGs, etc. It has strengthened the voice of the global south for the promotion of peace, prosperity, just growth, and a rule-based world order.
