India’s union cabinet headed by the Prime Minister of India, gave its ex-post facto approval to the Inter-Governmental Framework Agreement (IGFA) between India and the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in March 2024. The agreement was signed on 13 February 2024 to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries to achieve operational empowerment in the India-Middle East Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). The purpose of IGFA is to energize the mutual relations notably in the Logistics, Ports, and Maritime domains. It will furnish a comprehensive foundation promoting joint investment and partnership for the progress of the IMEC. The cooperation under this agreement will be set on the mutually agreed principles and guidelines basis the jurisdiction norms of respective countries. This bilateral detailed agreement showcases dedication to enhancing economic cooperation and operational viability across the region.
