In a landmark move to elevate Indian education, a public statement ‘National Professional Standard for Teachers’ (NPST) was recently launched by the Ministry of Education aiming to reform the teachers’ way of working to positively impact students’ learning outcomes in the country.

The NPST syncs with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) and aims to boost the professional and personal growth of teachers. It highlights the key factors needed to elevate the performance and other driving forces to maintain the pace of teaching with gradual enhancement so that teachers would be able to attain high-quality learning through effective teaching methodologies that will bring the Indian education system to the level of 21st-century needs of the students.
