India chaired the first BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group (TWG) Meeting in virtual mode on May 25, 2026, marking the beginning of tourism cooperation initiatives under its BRICS 2026 Chairship. It served as an introductory and preparatory platform for advancing the tourism agenda of BRICS member nations under the broader theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”

The meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, and brought together representatives from BRICS countries to discuss priorities and collaborative opportunities in the tourism sector. Delegates exchanged views on key areas that can strengthen tourism cooperation and contribute to sustainable growth across member nations. The discussions highlighted a collective resolve among member nations to enhance cooperation through continued dialogue and the exchange of knowledge.
